As a teenager growing up in Miami, Florida, I got my hands on Shoichi Aoki’s FRUiTS book, which showcased his Japanese street style photos. This made me realize publishing’s potential to expose readers to cultures and worlds they didn’t previously know existed.

I went on to receive a BFA in Cinema Studies from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, followed by a master’s degree in Visual Arts Administration (also from NYU).

In 2008 I began working in-house for Prestel Publishing. I went freelance in 2015 and continue to collaborate closely with Prestel. After a 10-year stint living in London, I’m once again based in NYC.
Besides working on books I’m also a writer, primarily covering dance music, art, and design. I’ve contributed to media outlets including The Red Bull Music Academy Daily, Resident Advisor, VICE, Artsy, Crack Magazine, XLR8R, Indiewire, and Filmmaker Magazine. Here are some of my favorite pieces from over the years:

︎  Andrew Holleran’s seminal queer novel Dancer from the Dance

︎  Iconic electronic music logos from London-based institutions

︎  The rise of streaming club sets on platforms like Boiler Room and Dommune

︎  Artist-run dance parties around the world

︎  Young Boy Dancing Group, who perform with lasers in their butts

︎  5 essays for the book Women Who Rock: Bessie to Beyoncé. Girl Groups to Riot Grrrl
